4. Burn a CD
|
Burn the ISO disc image onto a recordable CD or CD-RW.
Warning: Burning the ISO file itself onto the CD will not work.
You must use the Burn Image function (or similar feature) of
your CD-writer software in order to extract the contents of the
ISO image onto the CD.
To verify that you have burned the ISO image correctly, check the
CD's contents. It should contain folders named "fonts", "dev","bin" and other files. If you see only an iso file, then the CD
*cannot* be used for firmware updating.
In this case, consult your CD-writing software's user manual for instructions on how to write the contents of an ISO image to CD.
Do not proceed any further until the Update CD has been properly prepared.

| 5. Select a correct video output for update |
Now make sure at least one video display device (e.g. TV) is
connected to the composite, S-video or component video outputs of the V880.
All vital on-screen instructions during the firmware update will
be viewable on this TV.
WARNING: On-screen instructions cannot be viewed via the V880's
DVI output during the firmware update. |
| 6. Secure power supply |
Please make sure your power supply is stable. We do not respond in any user update frailer. Fees may be applied if return to us. Recommend you use UPS (Uninterruptible Power Systems)
before you updating V880 |
| 7. Place the CD |
Place the Update CD into the V880. |
| 8. Unplug the power cable |
Position yourself so that your hands can access both the front
and rear panels of the V880. Now unplug the power cable from the
rear panel of the V880. |
| 9. Press and hold down the "STOP" button |
Press and hold down the "STOP" button on the DVD player front
panel while plugging the power cable back into the V880's
rear panel. |
| 10.Release the "STOP" button |
After at least 3 seconds, the V880's front panel displays
"LOAD". You can now release the "STOP" button. |
11. Update screen |
After some time, the TV screen shows the Momitsu Firmware
Update screen. Read the on-screen instructions on the TV
and press the "Play" button on the V880. |
| 12. On-screen instructions |
Press the "Play" button again when prompted by the on-screen instructions on the TV. The V880's front panel now displays
"Flash" and then counts from 1 to 100. The TV screen also
shows a progress bar.
Do NOT interrupt the player during this process. |
13. On-screen instructions

When the update is complete, the front panel shows "Done". The TV screen shows "Update successfully Done!
Power off your DVD player!" |
14. Restart
your V880
|
Restart your V880 DVD player by unplugging
the power cable and plugging it back into the player. |
| 15. Reset
your V880 video output |
V880 Video setup
After update you will lose all video setting.
Please follow the instruction to setup your Video output.
1) Connect your V880 with your TV via composite or S-video
output.
2) Using "VIDEO" button on the remote control. If
you can not get
any picture from DVI or any other video output
you can reset
the video output. It will go though all video
output terminals
such as composite, s-video, component DVI,
etc., then go
back to composite again.
3) After getting image on your TV, please go to setup menu to
select correct output. *You might not able
to select some video
output if it had been setup to another video
output. So, you
have to select OFF first, and then select
another video output
you need.
4) Exit the SETUP menu. |
